Opening Pitch.

Happy New Year and shit....
I've never been one for resolutions, but as I get older there are some things that I  would love to start changing about myself. It's pure coincidence that I'm thinking of them today lol.

These are very general things, that I'm recently deciding I want to work on. Gradually, of course.
1) I want to blog more! I've realized that with microblogging and things like twitter, I stopped actually writing, which is something that has always been so therapeutic for me.
2) I want to speak my mind more.
Better out than in. I've seen first-hand how pent up emotions can manifest into physical pain, stress, etc. Do not want.
3) I want to return to school.
After I earned my Bachelor's, I wanted to take a short break from school, to just...breathe. But I think I've become to complacent, and changes shall be made.

That's it.

Update: 30 Day Challenge ♥

I found this list, the Tumblr 30-Day Letter Challenge...and this shall be the one I use for my blog. I'm gonna start off today, so my next post will be Day One. I just thought I'd post the list, in case anyone wants to use it for their own blog! OK Let's Play Catch-Up...

It's been a busy week, my honeydip was here for a week plus work has been crazy as usual...this retail management stuff is a trip. But I won't complain! Some aren't employed at all! I'm coming up on my last free week until school starts back up! Final semester of undergrad...I can't tell you how ready I am. It's been a long 4 years. They need to just gon' 'head and give me my $40G piece of paper and let me loose! Lol.
I've been lurking reading a bunch of blogs, and I decided that, in light of my neglectful demeanor towards my own blog lately, I want to do one of the blog post-a-day things. I think the main reason I stop posting is because things become routine in my life...there's just nothing to write about sometimes lol. So hopefully this post-a-day thing will help get rid of my blogger's block, and maybe even spark up inspiration for some new posts. I still have to find like a list of topics top blog about, though. I'd love you long time if any of you could point me in the right direction lol!!

Shoutout♥

to the people who feed off drama. So much so, that if there is no real drama going on...they'll actually go so far as to make some/seek some out. Really? It'll never in life be that serious.

to the white people who walk their kids in the mall...on leashes. RETRACTABLE leashes. Pink retractable leashes... I was flabbergasted when I saw that ish...little girl goes runnin. Leash freezes. Little girl falls FLAT on her pull-up padded ass. SMH.

to the people who are STILL FBing and talking about the BET awards. Yours truly did not watch them, and has no intention of doing so. Over it!

to B.ossip...try as I do, I just can't seem to stay away....

to Summertime Funk. And no, this isn't some new genre of music...I'm referring to those {particularly femmes} who don't realize that going without showers/baths, and the appropriate subsequent toiletries {deodorant, spray, perfume, etc} isn't EVER cool...but when it's 80+ degrees each day...the sh.t is just TOTALLY unacceptable. Fix it.

to the dude who approached me at the mall as I was shopping the other day. Reeking of liquor. At 6-ish in the evening. First of all, why are you wasted this early? Second, why are you wasting said wastedness on a trip to the mall lol? The guy had the nerve to be cute, too {not that it'd matter to me} but his err... condition...eliminated ALL possible cool points. SMH.

to the homeless man who's ass I wanted to kick the other day. Because of his pitiful little face, the sapp in front of me at a stoplight decided {at the last second} that she just HAD to get out of the car and put some money into the damn cup. Almost making me miss my light.

to The-Dream...for sounding eXACTLY the same in every single song, remix, feature, etc.

to Adam Rodriguez...just because I was watching CSI:Miami earlier, and thought his gorgeousness was worth mentioning.

Who/What/When/Where/Why...♥

I'm guessing a lot of you have thought of these things before, but there are certain questions that run through my mind every now and then, when it comes to blogging....
Why do people blog?
I mean, is it just something to pass the time during a 9-to-5?
Where do you blog? At home, at work? Starbucks? In class while your professor is lecturing?
Do you write what is important/interesting to you, or do you write things you thing will be important/interesting to readers?
Do you tell people in your everyday life about your blog, or are your readers and/or followers people you've met in cyberspace?
Do you read and reply to comments people leave on your posts?
Do you comment on others' posts?
Do you keep up with all the blogs you follow?
Do you follow blogs that pique your interest, or do you just follow blogs of those who follow your blog?
Is your blog really reflective of you, or is it some alternate reality for you to express things that people in your everyday life wouldn't understand?
Are you a lurker (read a bunch of blogs, but don't follow/follow anonymously or don't comment/comment anonymously)?

Yeah... I got a little carried away...but I always wonder these things...I don't follow many blogs, but the ones I follow are the ones that actually have interesting posts, and make me want to come back and view again. I used to follow any random blog, then I'd find myself getting to the point where I'd scroll through the list of new posts and skip past things...and why follow a blog if you're just adding it to a list of things you don't even read? I've had people stop following my blog because I didn't follow theirs...and that's fine with me. I mean, this blog is something I started because I'm a pretty random yet sometimes analytical person...and people around you don't really want to hear all that hoopla everyday. So this is a place where I can lay everything out exactly the way I want it, and write as much as I want, as often as I want...and anyone who takes time out of his/her day to sit and read it is welcome with open cyber arms... I think it's great to get a glimpse into the lives of people who live across the country, or across the world...or whatever. See how people in different environments live. You know...all that good stuff. Lol.

Boxes...♥

As much as I hate it, I look at things {and people} very stereotypically. A lot. I've been working on it, especially since I'm so conscious of it at this age....the problem is, I see so many people perpetuating these stereotypes that it makes it difficult for me to look at people any other way. Ever since I started my blog, I've had people who know me personally, ask me why I spend so much time blogging and reading other blogs. I don't know too many other people {in "real life"} who blog; I know some people who couldn't tell you what a blog is, believe it or not. The troubling thing is, most of these people are Black. It made me wonder, am I the weird one...or are there just an abundance of Black people behind on the times? A lot of the people I know would rather be sitting around watching BET, or chasing some chick/dude who could give a rats ass about them...or any number of things that, to sum it up, are a waste of time. So it makes me happy when I visit blogs of people all over the world who share their views and perspectives on so many relevant and eye-opening {or hilarious and random} different things. Especially Black people. For a second, I really thought Black people didn't blog...{yes, a second}.
I love blogging because not only is it an outlet {I rant and rave about random things all the time, and I can appreciate that some people don't want to hear that ish}, but I enjoy reading other perspectives, looking at others' blog setups and creativity, hearing music I may not have heard before, etc. Following blogs, and having people follow yours, is like having a group of people outside your immediate circle who share your views, or at least share the desire and willingness to look at things and come up with a valid opinion of them. I think it's amazing that so many people sign up for FBs and Twitter, and things of that allow you to condense thoughts into a tiny box all day long...but wouldn't give blogging a chance. I update my status as much as the next person, but I don't like condensing my thoughts. Why be limited by a predetermined amount of characters? Why not expand, and express? Even when I post a status, that box will never be big enough to hold all the things that could be on my mind at any given point in time...
